Internet & Humanism

  • Proceedings of the annual meeting Luminar VI. Mercury and Philology: the wedding between textual analysis and the Web, 1-2 February 2007, Querini Stampalia Foundation, Venice
    (ed. by Antonella Sbrilli)
Luminar, the yearly appointment promoted by the Engramma Cultural Association to examine the connections between Humanism and the Internet, dedicated this year's seminar to the relationship between the discipline of philology and information technology. The conference was dedicated to the potential (and possible limitations) of the contribution of the Internet to philological method; concepts of 'archetype' and 'digital variant' were discussed, and various criteria regarding the editions of literary on-line products were compared.
